Erma Jane "Janie" Dickerson

I have so many happy memories of "mom" over the years...family reunions, visits to our home, touring Germany and Switzerland together, great family meals, shopping. The list goes on and on. There will always be one that stands out and that is on the first visit to the family home in Lancaster, CA in the summer of 1975. When I was about to enter the family as a new wife, I wanted to make sure that I met my future mother-in-law before making that decision...having had a previous, not so nice, experience. Even though, I was a complete stranger who was about to marry her son, 'Mom" never once made me feel like an outsider who would not be accepted. She was warm, hospitable, and truly interested in getting to know me. I admired the respect and love she gave to her husband and her family and the way she received it in return. I remember saying to myself, "This is a family I want to be a part of." In all the years we had together she stayed true to herself and others. She will always be a special memory in my life's journey. I love you, "Mom."
